Testimonials

"ilumr has enabled our graduate students to gain crucial hands-on MRI educational experience without the need for frequent access to clinical MRI scanners, which is impractical. It is portable, safe and easy to use in classroom settings. ilumr’s user-friendly software environment gives students complete control over pulse sequences and imaging protocols' parameters, fostering both high-level as well as advanced understanding of MR physics - an excellent educational tool for teaching MRI to engineering students at our university!"

“Using ilumr in my classes has made teaching MRI a lot more fun and easier for students to grasp. Whether doing quick demos for high schoolers and first year under-grads or diving into more advanced projects and basic research tied to clinical research scanning, ilumr has really boosted both my teaching and research work.”

Assistant Professor,  Instituto Superior Técnico,  University of Lisbon, Portugal

"I've been using ilumr as a teaching tool and resource for those learning the basics of MRI.  I think it has been extremely useful, allowing for rapid interactions with an MRI experiment in a way that is very accessible.  During my course, I even carried the scanner from the lab to the classroom to do live demos.  The educational labs and set of samples provided made it very simple to start using ilumr in my course and for trainees to start playing around with it."

Professor in the  Department of Radiology & Biomedical Imaging and Graduate Program in Bioengineering at the University of California, San Francisco

As a desktop MRI instrument, Ilumr is a fantastic educational tool that helps students translate the theoretical concepts of MRI Physics into understanding how MR images are produced. The students are able to run MRI measurements hands-on, experiment with imaging parameters, and get a practical feel for the essential physics of a high-field MRI scanner, but without the cost. The students can investigate the relationship between k-space and the image, explore the interplay between image resolution and signal-to-noise ratio, and learn about different pulse sequences. They can also learn about the practical “nuts and bolts” of MRI such as tuning, shimming and RF pulse calibration. The image quality is simply amazing for a desktop system. And the scientific and technical support from Resonint has been superb every step of the way. I highly recommend this instrument to every University department teaching general or medical physics, radiology, or radiography.
